THE ANOINTING IN THE LIFE OF THE BELIEVER!

INTRO: If there was Ever a TIME that God desires the Holy Spirit to be Flowing through His people, IT IS NOW!
God is Anointing and Equipping Believers All Over the world to Reach THIS GENERATION for Christ!

TEXT:
Isa. 58:6 “Is not this the fast that I have chosen..?”

Isa. 10:27 ..”The yoke shall be destroyed because of the Anointing."

Lk. 4:18, 19 WEB “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has Anointed Me to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to Heal the broken hearted, To Proclaim Release to the captives, Recovering Of Sight to the blind,
To Deliver those who are crushed bound, and oppressed, And to Proclaim the Acceptable year of the Lord.”

✔️ 1 Cor.2:4 Paul said, “And my speech and my preaching was not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in Demonstration of the Spirit and of Power,
5. that your Faith should not be in the wisdom of men, but in the Power of God.

✔️ Jesus taught that God Ordained Ministry should be done By and Through the ANOINTING of the Spirit Of God!

- WHAT IS THE ANOINTING? Strongs Def. Gr. [Anointing] : Smeared on, Rubbed in Endowment, Miraculous Capability of God.
- Oil is a type of the Anointing throughout the Bible!

✔️ Application: The Anointing, is the Holy Spirit moving upon you and working through you to perform miraculous things!

✔️ Jesus said in Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive Power (Gr. Miraculous Power), after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses for me.."

I. Lk. 4:18 JESUS POINTS OUT 5 WAYS THE ANOINTING EMPOWERS US TO DEMONSTRATE THE GOSPEL.

A . #1 To Preach the Gospel to the poor.

(destitute of wealth, influence, position, honor, lowly, afflicted, destitute of the Christian virtues and eternal riches)

2. EMPOWERS US.. To Heal the broken hearted. [Heb. Isa. 61:1 To put a Stop to broken heartedness]

3. EMPOWERS US.. Preach Deliverance to the captives.

4. EMPOWERS US.. Bring Recovery of sight to the blind.

5. EMPOWERS US.. To Set At Liberty them that are bound, oppressed.

B. ✔️ The Gospel was not meant to be in Words only, but in DEMONSTRATION of the Spirit and Power!

1. 1Cor. 2:4,5 …”My Speech and Preaching was not with enticing words ..But in DEMONSTRATION of the Spirit, and of POWER!

a. Why? So that your Faith would not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the Power Of God!

2. Cripple man healed Acts 14:8,9 Paul preached and demonstrated the Gospel!

3. Lame man healed Acts 3:1-8 Peter Demonstrated the Power to Heal in Jesus Name. [ Peter said he HAD Something! ]

4. Acts 8:5-8 Philip preached Christ in Samaria, and people were [ Healed and Delivered BECAUSE Phillip WENT!!! ]

a. Acts 6:2-5 Philip and Stephen waited tables, and God used them!

1. ✔️ However, THEY STAYED FULL of the Holy Spirit! Zealous for GOD!

2. These were men of Faith and Prayer!

a. Faith, because they continued reading the Word of God!

b. Prayer, because they maintained their Fellowship Connection with God!

II. STIR UP THE GIFT OF GOD! (2 Tim. 1:6-8 TPT)

A. Def. "Stir"- FULLY AWAKEN!

1. ✔️ This Only happens AFTER You make the Decision to Become Active Spiritually!

2. ✔️Consistant Time In Gods Presence where He is able to Impart Vision and Direction in your life.

B. How Do We Stir Up The Gift?

1. Jude 1:20 TLB “But you, dear friends, must build up your lives ever more strongly upon the foundation of our holy faith, Learning to Pray in the Power and Strength of the Holy Spirit.”

2. Philemon 1:4-6 "that the sharing of your faith may Become Effective...
By The Acknowledgment of Every Good Thing Which Is In You in Christ Jesus." Ie. Like the Greater One, The Gift of God working in your life!

3. When you testify of the Good things God has done in your life to others, very often the Anointing of the Spirit of God will come upon you and begin to minister to the one you’re speaking to!

4. Heb. 4:12 Think about the fact that God’s Word is Alive and Powerful.

a. 1 Timothy 4:15. “Meditate upon these things; (The Powerful Living Word Of GOD!) give thyself wholly to them; that your [Profiting May Appear To All."]

4. The Way We Stir Up The Gift of God is:

a. ✔️ To Think About and Meditate On the Word of God that Sets the captives Free!

b. ✔️ And then, Think About the Anointing Power of God that is Released when we Speak, and Lay Hands on People in Jesus Name!

5. ✔️ Talk About the Greatness of God, and The Things That Can Happen In God!

III. GOD WANTS US TO DEMONSTRATE THE GOSPEL!

A. Mk. 16:17,18. The laying on of hands with Signs Following Is the Anointing Demonstrated thru Believers!

B. ✔️When we are faced with things that require the power of God, we need to Look To The Greater One, The Holy Ghost, and Realize That We Are Anointed by God!

1. ✔️ Read 2 Cor. 6:16 Temple Of God
According to this verse, You and I are Containers of the Power & Presence of God!

C. Rom. 12:11 Amp. “Never lag (be sluggish, backward, bashful, hesitant, or shy) in zeal and in earnest endeavor, be aglow (vibrant) and burning (Gr. adds, Boiling over) with the Spirit..”

D. Eph. 5:17,18 Be Filled to Overflowing with The Spirit.

1. Being Filled with the Holy Ghost Brings Boldness! ( Acts 4:31 )

III. IT'S TIME TO STEP OUT IN FAITH TRUSTING GOD FOR THE ANOINTING!

A. 1 Pet. 4:10,11 “Be Good Stewards of the manifold Grace (Grace Gr. Gift, endowment, miracul ous gift) of God.”

B. Start using what you’ve got - spiritually, and God will meet you with the Anointing Power of God!

C. ✔️ Mt. 14:28,29. Getting Out of the Boat!
It was Peters 1st step that released the power stand on the water. It was the 2nd step that caused him to go Walking in that Power!

1. Don't Stop Short of the 2nd Step! he 1st Step is to Be Willing. The 2nd is to Let God Work Thru You!!!
